Effect of Organizational Culture on Knowledge Sharing Management Practices of Pharmaceutical Industries in Tamilnadu

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to find out the relationship between knowledge sharing management and organizational culture among the pharmaceutical industry employees.  This study is utilized descriptive research procedure to accomplish the purpose of the objective.  The study variables are knowledge sharing management practices  and organizational culture experienced by pharmaceutical industries employees . The target population for this study is defined as pharmaceutical industry employees, who had completed three years of experience and who are all working in Chennai  Region, Tamilnadu, India. In this industries, 2000 employees are working. From the total population, ten percentage of subject are considered for this study. Hence, 200 samples are approached to participate in this study. Sample respondents are selected through convenient sampling method. The knowledge sharing management measured by swierczek (2006).  It is consists of eight dimension namely knowledge acquisition, knowledge creation, knowledge transfer, knowledge utilization, knowledge retention, knowledge accumulation, knowledge internalization and knowledge sharing.  The degree of employee organizational culture is measured using Fay and Denison   (2003).  It is consisted of 12 statement and four component such namely involvement, consistency, adoptability and mission.  It is found that organizational culture dimension are significantly and positively influence the Knowledge Management practice.
