Law of Anticipatory Bail in India with Special Reference to the Issue of Territorial Jurisdiction

Abstract

In India, the Criminal Procedure Code 1973 provides protection to persons anticipating or fearing arrest.With this paper, the author aims to trace the evolution of law of anticipatory bail in India with special reference to the issue of territorial jurisdiction. It focusses on the landmark judgments of the Supreme Court and meanders its way through conflicting opinions of the Court.
