Abstract

This paper analyzes the level of financial and life satisfaction of youth in Croatia, and explores the relationship between them. The primary goal of this paper is to evaluate the importance of individual financial satisfaction in predicting general levels of happiness and satisfaction. Using data gathered from a sample of university students and high-school students in Croatia and employing regression analysis, we found evidence that financial satisfaction contributes to greater levels of life satisfaction. Our results suggest that in order to increase the level of happiness, one must improve the level of financial satisfaction and take control over personal finances.
