Open Access literature on Gastritis from G20 Countries: A Scientometric Study

Abstract

The current study is purely a citation analysis of the open access scientific publications on gastritis published during the period of 2002-2021 by G20 counties. The data used for the study is downloaded from web of science and analyzed using HistCite and VOSviewer. The results show that Malfertheiner P, Graham DY and Megraud F are the top three most cited authors with 4933, 4588 and 4129 citations each. The journal wise analysis show that highest citations is received by the journal Gut (8320) followed by World Journal Of Gastroenterology (6603), Proceedings Of The National Academy Of Sciences Of The United States Of America (4050), Infection And Immunity, Gastroenterology (3749)  and Journal Of Immunology (3613). Analysis of citations institution wise show that highest number of citation (5952) is received by Vanderbilt University followed by Baylor College of Medicine 5061, University of Magdeburg 3953, Hokkaido University 3264, University of Aberdeen 3212, INSERM 2722 and University of Tokyo 2594. The article wise analysis show that the article titled “Currentconcepts in the management of Helicobacterpyloriinfection: the MaastrichtIIIconsensusreport” published in the Gut got the highest citations of 1390. Country wise citation analysis show that highest citation is received by publications from USA (38918 citations) followed by Japan (19963 citations) and Peoples republic of China (13398 citations). Co citation analysis of journal, author and cited references has also been done using VOSviewer Network visualizations which also show the network link strength.
